NUTRITION BUILDS A PATH TO RECOVERY

We believe that a physical aspect of recovery, namely nutritional therapy, as well as faith in the power of God is a long-ignored healing combination for helping compulsive addictive behaviors.  Therefore, Nutritional therapy is a part of the solution.  Science has learned how to rebalance people's brain chemistry quickly. "The key is using amino acids, Herbs and Vitamins because they are the specific fuels used to create natural 'feel good' chemicals in the body."

CHANCES ARE YOU'VE WORKED to kick an addiction to alcohol, drugs, food or impulsive-compulsive behavior, and you have addressed your emotionally issues by joining a 12-step program, but you have never really considered including the power of God and the tools He gave us in the form of nutritional support, you have fallen short of the mark.  We believe that a physical aspect of recovery, namely nutritional therapy, as well as faith in the power of God is a long-ignored healing combination to help alleviate compulsive and impulsive addictive behaviors.

These 'feel good' chemicals, or neurotransmitters as they are called, have different functions.  Endorphins are the body's natural heroin.  Norepinephrine is the body's natural speed, gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is its natural sedative and Serotonin. "Serotonin allows us to sleep restfully, boosts feelings of self-esteem, anchors us in the face of difficulty, prevents aberrant cravings for sugar, (a major addictive ingredient) or other refined carbohydrates and alcohol form getting out of control and keeping us from becoming depressed at night or during the colder months, and prevents agitated depression and worry."  Therefore, a lack of vital amino acids, and other nutrients, due to excessive drinking (alcoholics) or starvation (anorectics), malnourished the brain, and the body has nothing to make it feel good.

The following table describes some of things that amino acids can do.  This is not an inclusive table but serves to bring your attention to using nutrition to build a path way to recovery.

Amino Acids To Help Combat Addictions

Alcoholics, anorectics and bulimic who are nutritionally depleted often have severe deficiencies of important brain neurotransmitters that govern mood and emotion. Amino acid supplementation is part of dietary recovery help to rebalance brain chemistries while recovering.  Withdrawal from addictive substances should be supervised by a qualified health expert.
